I have been sewing since Jr High School, High School and still have not stopped. Though my sewing has changed through out the years my passion has not. It is my way of relaxation. I set my pace by realxing music, ice tea, and bare feet. Can't even sew with a sock on! LOL. My one regret is not spening the summers with my grandmother before she died. She quilted everything and cut everything by hand. She was a beautiful and very spunky lady. So when I started my first quilt , I prayed for her guidance through out it. I love making quilts with vibrant colors, but I really love the pink and greens. My latest is a purple background with white and gold unicorns. Bordered in purple and cream. Something very special for my grandaughter. Besides quilting here at home I volunteer for an agency here in town called RSVP. We have quilting once a month. We also do two quilts a year for fund raisers. The one that we just auctioned off went for $9,000. and is hanging in an antique car museum near Chicago. I also make premie night gowns for the local hospital. We are gearing up to make cancer quilts for the kids at Camp Watcha Wanna Do.

This is our pets. The gray cat came to us off the streets two years ago. No one would take him in and it was below O' So we took him in and Jim called him Mr Pibb, AKA Pibb Daddy. He weighs in at around 7-8 pounds. Now the other one.....We call him Mr Watson. He was the runt of the group from the shelter. His mommy looks just Mr Pibb! So when he came home, he thought mommy was here. Naturally after they got used to each other, they became buddies. Mr Watson is now about 16-17 pounds. No longer is white. He has blue eyes and looks somewhat like a siamese. They are always with me in my sewing room. Watson follows me everywhere. I held him constantly like a baby. So he is with me all the time. Pibb's is with Jim all the time and sits on his lap the minute he sits down. They are always into mischief. And they even have time out chairs! And they know it to! LOL....Can't live with out them.....
After a long laboring 16 hours, Blake was a C section. He just could not move down the "Slip N Slide to make his appearance. Born on Malissa's Birthday the 6th@ 11:48pm, her's was 11:36AM, Blake came weighing in at 7 pounds and 9 ozs! 20 inches long and the FATEST little cheeks we have ever seen! And content! ever 4 hours in his eating and barely screams.....he looks around specially when he hears Moms, Dads or his big brothers voice......God has truely given all of us a true blessing. I could not stop crying on this one. And so did Mom & Dad. Kodie is very protective to! LOL.....everyone has to wash up according to him....what a bro! This is really something to, Mo's Birthday, Blakes Birthday and the Doctor all have the same Birthday! Doc said this was cool because he has never done this before, and it was the best Birthday he has ever had! And today, the 8th is Blakes Daddy's Birthday! Can we say party!!?? Well, I need to go, Have lots of things to do .....back at the hospital we go.......
Sure hope this gets into the right spot, don't shoot me Sue if it lands up wrong...LOL...This is where I spend most of my time every day. It is sunny, I have my little TV and my music for relaxing. It has my stash under the bench where my cats sleep. The rest of the stash is in the canets, closet, and under our bed. I have a table that I set up for big projects. It's up 90 percent of the time. What can I say. But I love my room. I have a large picture that my mother in law gave me that was her mothers. My room is a combo of her, and her mother, my husband and me. It is my haven.
You have an amazing Profile. Your Profile shows everything that interests you, and all the work you have done. I love to look at peoples profiles, and I see that some are coming along very nicely. I am glad to see people really coming up and starting to show off what they have done!
Thank you for joining and for coming back. We appreciate it as we get the site going. Allot of advertisements are beign done so things should get swinging
Well it did not take long. Easy pattern. I lined them with flannel. They are normally lined with fleece. And I can add a button on the cuff to keep it down or stay stitch them down.
If there is a pocket or an emblem, you can fussy cut it into the mitten. I have a buddy at church that LOVES to golf.....Mittens for winter golfing. Last year we gave him orange golf balls.
I bought this pattern and fabric kit at our quilt show last week. $5.00....It was easy to do and I love it. So I have decided to hit my Christmas stash and do these up for the gifts in our family. We buy for the parents and grandbabies. I usually make something for the families. And with the economy this year, I can continue and feel pretty good about not going empty handed.
Well here is the finished product. 2nd place! Am I ever happy, We learned tons of things today and saw the most beautiful wall hangings I have ever seen. It is from the "Hoffman Challenge" They tour all over the US and it is the most unusual group. If it comes your way you have to go see them! I will post some over the weekend. To tired tonight....But very content....... Nora
This is to be a Basket Sampler 12x12 block for our quilt for RSVP. I have about 10 days to pull this off. no clue yet on what style I want, but at least I have the fabric! LOL....
This quilt is for my grandaughter Sarina. She loves horses and unicorns. And the color purple. So I found some fabric bought all they had and made her a very simple quilt. I put a fancy stiching on it and gold fabric for binding. I know she will love it!
Just a couple things I made for our soon to be grandson, Blake Michael. He is due around the end of October, if not before! Mommy picked her colors of blue and brouns, I finished pulling out the rest of the colors from the quilt. Except for the pinks.
I have several quilts started but never finished them. Only the baby quilts. The Jewel Tones Quilt was made for our nephew and his bride this past summer and will be on display this fall at our local annual quilt show. I have two quilts getting ready for binding but my 30 something year old Singer has decided to take a burn out on me! LOL....I have back up at our local RSVP office and will be finishing them there.
