Bought a New Used Car!

in

Well I dont have any pictures of it (I dont own a Digital Camera... kinda embarassing isnt it), and its a 2001 Saturn SL.  I bought it from a really nice guy down in Brockport who is the sole sales man for Thunderbolt Auto Sales and Service.  Hes on 5371 Lake Rd S (shameless plug), and you can contact him at 585-637-2401.  Anyways, it was a pain in the butt to buy the car, but it was because of my situation.  He went out of his way to do what ever he could to help me out, even picking me up from my house and driving to the dealer.  I am very happy for it.  The car checked out, and everything is good.

It gets around 38 MPG, and is a really nice 4 door car.  I cant wait till I can take Buddy (My Dog) to the Park.  Today, I kinda blew it, and went back to sleep (Bad Idea), because when I woke up it was dark out:(  I am going to try and goto bed early today and do that.

Quilting Equals Computer Programming!

in

Here I am a computer nerd in the middle of all these Quilters, Patchwork, Gardeners, etc. I am building a website for all of you, but I don't think my passion is far from you Guys and Girls. I spend months on a project that is probably going to make me no money, but will hopefully be used by allot of people. Each day the site makes huge amounts of progress, and each day we have more features, more ways in which people can take control of their content, and more ways people can grow. Computer Programming is taking small bits of logic and making it into a "function", but lets say we make a peace of fabric. We take that fabric, and we cut it and use the properties of it, to sew two or three different peaces of fabric together to form a pastern. We then take that pattern and work away some more to make a block, and ultimately an entire quilt. To Try and plan a quilt from each thread is impossible. But make fabric out of the thread, fabric into patterns, and patterns into quilts and you got you an amazing peace of art! Welcome to programming! For us, to take each 1 and 0 and try to make a website out of it is a dauntingly impossible task.

THE origin of the domestic arts of all nations is shrouded in mystery. Since accurate dates cannot be obtained, traditional accounts must be accepted. The folklore of any country is always exceedingly interesting and generally has a few kernels of fact imbedded somewhere in its flowers of legend, although some of our most familiar household objects are not even mentioned by tradition. Spinning and weaving, however, are very generously treated in the mythology and folklore of all nations. Nearly every race has some legend in which claim is made to the discovery of these twin arts.  read more »

In the 1936 Presidential election, Americans reelected FDR to a second term. This quilt commemorates the President's landslide victory over his opponent, Republican Alfred M. Landon of Kansas. Embroidered on the stars are the names of the 48 states and the number of electoral votes each cast. The total number won by the President is embroidered in the center, while the number won by Landon appears in the bottom border, between the stars for the only two states that went Republican.

The Milwaukee Handcraft Project began in 1935 as an experiment aimed at employing workers who were considered unemployable because of age or disability. The project soon became a thriving business, employing up to 900 workers who made rugs, draperies, furniture, wall hangings, and toys that were purchased by public institutions such as hospitals and schools. The wall hanging displayed here was given to Eleanor Roosevelt by the project.
