This is my own area of my home. It is a room above the garage that my DH and I built. These photos are taken without the lights because the power was out at the time I took them. They show that the room has a lot of natural light on sunny days. There are two lazyboy chairs, a wood stove, television and stereo on the other side of the room. In the middle of the room is a pool table that doubles as a place to lay out my quilts. It is a very comfortable room that I can spend the entire day in when I get the urge to quilt. It even has a refrigerator, microwave and bathroom. It is my home away from home!
Linda, somehow I missed seeing your sewing room. What a great space, I really think the cabinets with the glass on it would be very helpful. You can always see what you are looking for without opening everything up. This looks like it would be very easy to sew in. What do you find that helps you the best to stay organized? Also, to make it fun to use the space. I'm sure the windows really make it a happy place to go to, to have some fun. I can see staying up there for hours would be very easy to do.
Thanks Sue! I think the thing that keeps me organized the best is making myself pick up regular. I am forced to do this regular by the fact that I have friends stop by every Wednesday, and we sit in this room and knit. (We sort of do a potluck lunch before we start.) Occassional one of the friends has a sewing project with them and they go over to the sewing area and sew.
I added a picture of the view I have from my sewing area. I love my sewing room!
Thanks for posting the new pictures. It is great sewing room with the big windows. I also pick up before I quit each day. That way, I'm all set to go when I come back. It is easier to figure out where you left off.
I don't do it every time I work out there. I don't always have the energy or the time, but I usually do it before I work there again. I prefer working there when it isn' t a mess and I can find what I am looking for.
